I am from Porto Alegre, south of Brazil. I started playing guitar in my teens and took a 2-year course in Music Theory and Harmony at the reputed Porto Alegre Symphonic Orchestra’s (OSPA) Music School. This was in late 80's so my first influences were the guitar heroes, neo-funk/soul and big pop artists. From my first serious band, an instrumental project called Sus Scrofa, I switched to cover bands and became an eclectic player, playing and studying international pop, blues, funk, rock and Brazilian popular music. I played professionally in cover and function bands during the whole of the 90’s. After graduating in electronic engineering, the music played the second fiddle as a job for a while but I kept working with local original artists, playing, arranging and recording. To name a few - Alexandre Guterrez (Black Master); Carlos Freitas (Elton Saldanha’s Band); Daniel Lemos and Jorge Herrmann (solo artists); and Roberto Porcher and Felipe Vargas (Viramundel - pop band which won two consecutive Porto Alegre Music Festival Awards). Today I am 100% dedicated to music. I am currently based in London where I have graduated in "Master Performance - Guitar" at Guitar-X and have been certified by the "Trinity Guildhall Level 4 ATCL" Diploma in Music Performance. Since last year I have been gigging and contributing with several local original artists. My work also involves recording sessions with emerging artists and rocking the London nights playing in cover and function bands that frequently play in the busiest pubs, clubs and parties in London. I am up to playing as a sideman or a session guitarist in gigs, tours and recordings with artists from a wide range of contemporary music styles. |
